In Absolute, Gatekeeper tells Ibara that he's on the right path to become Godfather, that he's already plenty like him. This displeases Ibara, he says he has no intention of becoming like God, yet he keeps behaving in ways that are befitting of that title. The way I see it, "becoming like God" isn't something inherently negative for Ibara's growth arc. I wanted to show this by conflating my older!Ibara design with Godfather's signature trait: white hair. Here, Ibara is washing his hands of blood while eyeing his Godlike self in the mirror, who stares back at him with a disapproving expression. I thought, looking back, older Ibara would see his past resistance towards open displays of power and dominance foolish, as something that needlessly set him back.
